About this Event
View mapJoin YWCA Charleston for the 2nd annual Race to End Racism, a 5K Run/1 Mile Walk, hosted by TransCanada Corporation, on Charleston’s West Side April 28th at 9 AM!
More than 400 people crossed the finish line at the inaugural Race to End Racism last year! We celebrated our diversity and the national YWCA campaign: Stand Against Racism.
The Race to End Racism funds racial justice work at YWCA Charleston. The work includes partnership building, community education and activism to eliminate racism in our communities.
Teams assemble at Magic Island (corner of Tennessee Ave. and Kanawha Blvd W.) where the race both starts and ends. The route passes historic landmarks, including churches, Mary C. Snow Elementary, and the Luna Park District. At Magic Island, runners, walkers, and their cheering squads can enjoy food, get their picture taken, jump in a bounce house, get their face painted, and enjoy live-entertainment
