Come and enjoy over 5 miles of internal paved quiet roads in beautiful Spring Hill Cemetery Park and Arboretum, where every turn of the road reveals a new scenic view or flowering delight.
Different paced walking and running groups form on each evening, or go at your own pace.

Everyone is welcome to come along. Brochures sharing information about Charleston's history and the trees in the arboretum will be available for walkers.

Members of the Hot 8 Brass Band have toured in Japan, Italy, France, Spain, Finland, England and Sardinia. The band performs annually at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and at world and jazz festivals across the US and Europe. Members of the band have been featured in both Spike Lee documentaries, When the Levees Broke and If God is Willing and Da Creek Don’t Rise. The band was also featured in the second season of the HBO series Tremé. They appeared at The Apollo with Dr. John, Lou Reed, Nicolas Payton and others for the annual Great Day in Harlem. The Hot 8 has released three critically acclaimed recordings and is featured on the latest Blind Boys of Alabama recording on Time-Life Records.

Long-running West Virginia-based roots-rock/country-soul band formed in the mid-1980s, known for their rich harmonies, stinging solos, and high-energy performances. With over 3,000 shows, the group has toured internationally (including three trips to Moscow), backed various artists, and released multiple albums produced by Don Dixon, defining a "loose-but-tight" Appalachian soul sound.

Spurgie Hankins

In 1968 Spurgie joined a group called, Seven Seas. The band toured the east coast and mid-west. The band shared the stage with Sly and the Family Stone, Little Richard, the Holding Company, and many others.

The Spurgie Hankins Band became a mainstay in the West Virginia music scene for many years. Hankins took a hiatus from performing live and is looking forward to again sharing his live performance talents with audiences.

Spurgie Hankins is one of West Virginia's musical treasures. Spurgie's original songs are a musical melting pot of genres that soothe the soul and enliven the spirit.

Now in its 22nd season, Live on the Levee continues to be a summer tradition in Charleston—
drawing residents and visitors to the riverfront for an evening of live music and community.

Live on the Levee first launched in 2004 and has remained a staple of the City’s summer
programming, with the exception of a one-year pause in 2020.

Live music begins at 6:30 p.m., with headlining performances taking the stage at 8 p.m.

Journey back to the fantastical lands of Florin and Guilder for an adventure filled with fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, chases, rodents of unusual size, near escapes, miracles, and, of course, true love.

So don’t be a “Humperdinck”, make haste to see “The Princess Bride: An Inconceivable Evening with Cary Elwes” for a night you will always “tweasure”.

Gill is honoring this fifty-year career milestone by curating a series of EPs to be released over the course of a year, thematically titled 50 Years From Home. His creative juices every bit as strong as they were fifty years ago, Gill has culled from over 100 songs he has written, either by himself or in collaboration with others, over the past few years. This is an endeavor unlike anything in his career up to this point.

“The more I’ve done it, the more I’ve learned how to do it better — how to be more patient, where not to waste my time, what to do and not to do, to be willing to edit myself and keep digging. Experience is experience; there is no shortcut. This is what comes from doing this for 50 years.”

One of the most popular artists in modern country music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit. Gill achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which won both the Country Music Association’s (CMA) Single and Song of the Year awards as well as a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male. Since then, Gill has won 17 additional CMA Awards, including Song of the Year four times – making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history, and a total of 22 Grammy Awards, his most recent one for Best Country Solo Performance – “When My Amy Prays.” The Academy of Country Music has conferred on Gill eight awards, including its Home Depot Humanitarian Award and the Career Achievement Award.

A gifted songwriter, Gill’s compositions earned him the prestigious BMI Icon award in 2014, and entry into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2005.

In 2007, Gill was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, and in 2012 he was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame which was placed in cement right next to his wife Amy Grant’s star. In 1991, Gill was invited to become a member of The Grand Ole Opry, a position he treasures. He continues to perform on that historic stage on a regular basis.

Throughout his career he has released 20 albums, sold over 30 million albums, and charted 45 singles.

Known for his many collaborations, Gill has made guest appearances on more than 1000 albums, and has performed and/or recorded with artists such as Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Sting, Emmylou Harris, Diana Krall, Jimmy Webb, Bruno Mars, Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and George Jones. His collaborative efforts also include albums he has produced for Amy Grant, Ashley Monroe, The Time Jumpers and Wendy Moten.

Always considering himself a musician above all else, Gill has over the years been a part of some iconic bands including Pure Prairie League, The Cherry Bombs, and The Time Jumpers. In 2017 Vince was asked to join the Eagles on the road and continues to be a part of that historic band’s tour.

Gill’s current album, the critically acclaimed OKIE, is his most personal album, as he sings about his wife in prayer, about kindness and forgiveness, about his heroes in death, and about his own loves, joys, and regrets.

They will perform on July 25, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Clay Center.

The tour announcement comes in celebration of the band’s upcoming 21st studio album, In The Bay, set for release on June 12. The ever-prolific duo, J.D. Andrew and Bud Thornton, continue to showcase their deep-rooted influences from the golden era of rock, drawing inspiration from icons like The Beatles and The Beach Boys while carving out a distinct sound all their own.

“In The Bay is our 21st release,” says Thornton. “It’s our humble attempt at making our ‘Pet Sounds’—inspired by time spent in Morro Bay, California, and shaped by the music that’s always influenced us.”

The album features lush instrumentation and experimental production techniques, including contributions from longtime collaborator Teddy Andreadis. Fans can expect a live performance that blends new material with the band’s expansive catalog, honed over nearly two decades of touring.

Since forming in 2006, The Boxmasters have built a passionate international following, performing across the United States, Canada, and Europe. They’ve shared stages with legendary acts including The Who, ZZ Top, Steve Miller, and George Thorogood, and have played iconic venues such as The Ryman Auditorium and The Cavern Club in Liverpool. In 2026, they will also make their debut at the renowned Stagecoach Festival.

The spring tour adds to an already landmark year for Strings, whose most recent full-length album, Highway Prayers, is nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards. The road that started on the pop music charts in the ‘70’s, took a winding turn into country music in the ‘80’s, paving the way for duos to come, such as Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, Big & Rich, and previously—The Judds. But before the road forked into country, the musical odyssey of brothers Bellamy started creatively smoldering in their home state of Florida, before exploding nationally amidst the ’70’s pop music culture of L.A.

Now known by their music and the company they were keeping, The Bellamys officially lifted off the launch pad in 1976 when their single, “Let Your Love Flow,” became an instant smash in both the U.S. and Europe. It stayed on the international charts long enough to build a huge international fan base for the
hip young brothers that endures to this day. In Germany alone it perched at #1 for more than two months. The love was indeed flowing as The Bellamys jammed for audiences on their sold-out concerts and shared stages with the likes of Loggins & Messina, the Doobie Brothers, and the Beach Boys, with their patented blend of rock/country music.

True to their musical roots, their style and their songwriting was moving steadily more towards their raising. By the late ‘70’s The Bellamys were emerging on the country charts with another bona fide smash. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” originally scrawled on a dinner napkin by David, rocketed them to the top of the country charts the way “Let Your Love Flow,” had
done in the pop market just a few years earlier. It proved to be the first of a string of fourteen #1 singles in the U.S. alone.

Success followed success: “Dancing Cowboys,” “Sugar Daddy,” “You Ain’t Just Whistlin’ Dixie,” “Lovers Live Longer,” “Do You Love As Good As You Look,” “Redneck Girl,” “For All The Wrong Reasons,” “I Love Her Mind,” “I Need More Of You,” “Old Hippie,” “Too Much Is Not Enough,” “Kids Of The Baby Boom,” and “Reggae Cowboy” and “Crazy From The Heart,”…all have lined the corridors of the Bellamy’s musical history and their walls with platinum and gold.

Nurse Blake (Blake Lynch) is a nurse, creator, advocate, and touring comedian whose humor and storytelling have made him a viral sensation and a beloved figure in the healthcare community. With a career that has taken him from the bedside to sold-out comedy tours around the world, Nurse Blake celebrates the hard work of nurses and healthcare providers in a way that is both hilarious and deeply relatable.

Passionate about nursing from the start, he earned his BSN in 2014 from the University of Central Florida (UCF) and served as President of the Florida Nursing Student Association. Even as a student, he was an advocate for change—in 2013, he founded Banned4Life, a movement that played a key role in ending the FDA’s lifetime ban on gay men donating blood.

After graduation, Nurse Blake worked in Level 1 trauma centers across the country, but an unexpected passion for social media transformed his career. What began as funny Facebook videos to de-stress quickly went viral, earning him nearly 4 million followers and a devoted fanbase of nurses and nursing students worldwide. The New York Times even hailed him as a “genuine phenomenon.”

Now, he takes his signature humor beyond the screen with his sold-out stand-up comedy tours, which have sold over 200,000 tickets worldwide. His PTO Comedy Tour (2022) expanded from 14 cities to 55 due to overwhelming demand, and in 2023, he launched the Shock Advised Comedy Tour, a 100-city North American & International run filled with live skits, videos, and interactive stories from his nursing days.

Create a supportive, healing space for survivors, those with lived experience, and allies

Each walk is a powerful reminder that no one has to face these challenges alone. It turns awareness into action—funding research, education programs, advocacy, and support for those impacted.

There will be community resources for mental health, addiction and recovery, veterans, milirary and first responders and much more.

Suicide is currently the number 2 cause of death in WV for those ages 10-34 and WV ranks 13th in the nation with suicide rates. The Out of the Darkness Walks are an important community event dedicated to bring hope and healing in our state and save lives.
