The Celtic Calling Playwriting Contest Committee is pleased to announce the following five plays (listed in alphabetical order by author) have been selected for the readers theatre performance on March 5, 2022, 4pm at The Empty Glass and via Facebook Live on the Celtic Calling Facebook page:

Skelliking Day by Joe Bergin
Pangs of Ulster by Conor Casey
Athbrhrith [rebirth] by Kaela Mei-Shing Garvin
No Whiskey in Heaven by Michael Waterson
A new addition this year—each of the authors of the top five plays will receive a money award!
First Place: $150
Second: $100
Third: $75
Fourth: $50
Fifth: $25

Many thanks to our friends at Tip Jar Theatre for their time and attention to the entries received this year! The competition was fierce, resulting in two ties within the top 6, necessitating further tie-breaker events among the judges, and multiple shots of Jameson!
On March 5, those in attendance at The Empty Glass will be able to vote for their favorite play/performance, bestowing the coveted Audience Choice Award, which earns the author an additional $100!
Just like last year, attendees will get to vote for their favorite play with cold, hard, cash--the play that has collected the most funds by the end of the night will earn its playwright the Audience Choice Award!
