A perfect combination for two days of family fun: Make & take craft opportunities from invited artisans and groups, a sale of work by children and youth in Kanawha County neighborhood programs; a stage with child-friendly performances, games and other activities for young children. On Saturday only, events include the Wow Photo Booth, the Friends of the Library bake sale, activities on the Library Plaza, and a used book sale.
Make and Take Artisans are Samantha Mosby Belcher, Anna Copenhaver, Boone Dawson, Matt Green, Terry Quentrill, Barbara Rhodes, JD Williamson, and Trisha Withrow. Groups providing activities for children include Charleston Montessori, Charleston Parks and Recreation, the Clay Center, Kanawha County Extension Master Gardeners, and Mountaineer Montessori.
Neighborhood partners participating in the Children’s Art Sale are after school programs from the Bob Burdette Center, East End Family Resource Center, KISRA, Lighthouse Academy of Learning, Partnership of African-American Churches, Pro-Kids, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Charleston, Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of St. Albans, Second Avenue Center, and YMCA of Kanawha Valley, and the WVU Extension Service 4-H Youth Development Program.
Mallory Richards is producer of FestivALL art fairs, and Minnie Jones is assistant producer and block captain of the Children’s Art Fair.
