Why We Stayed: The Forgotten Victims of Domestic Violence Speak shows 20 characters in crisis as they each face their own situations of domestic violence. These hard-hitting portrayals of men and women tell the forgotten and ignored stories of the day-to-day survival of America’s silent victims. From the mother-to-be to the mother-in-law, the jaded cop to the devastated BCS worker to the nurse and the convict and the women of society and poverty and your next-door neighbor, the characters preach truth to society’s conveniently deafened ears.
