Free Film Event: The Human Element

Join Citizens' Climate Lobby and the WV International Film Festival for a FREE event on March 27th!

Enjoy a  commissioned musical piece from Grant Cooper, former conductor of the WV Symphony Orchestra, entitled "Readings From John Muir." Hear it performed by musicians from the WVSO and accompanied by a live reading of John Muir's work performed by Dan Kehde, director of the Contemporary Youth Arts Company. The evening will also feature Matt Jackfert's "Now is the Cool of the Day" for string quintet and vocalist (Ashley Dannewitz).

Then enjoy a special screening of "The Human Element" - a film by James Balong and Matt Testa, and a riveting and visually rich drama which follows renowned environmental photographer Balog as he explores wildfires, hurricanes, sea level rise, a struggling coal mining community, and highlights Americans who are on the front lines of climate change. The evening concludes with a panel discussion, moderated by Jim Probst, state director of CCL West Virginia.
