A limerick is a type of nonsense poetry made famous by British poet Edward Lear. Though the poem's connection with the city of Limerick, Ireland is obscure, the name is generally taken to be a reference to Limerick city or County Limerick. Local poet and songwriter Colleen Anderson will share some limericks with you and give you the chance to compose your own in this fun workshop. Participants will be invited to share their verses prior to the Sunday Jams performance beginning at 1:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 3 at the Main Library. Colleen is the owner of Mother Wit Writing and Design, a creative studio in Charleston that provides copywriting, graphic design, and creative consultation. Adult, Teens.
