Three Things: My First, My Favorite, My Future (season 4, episode 2)

Season 4, Episode 2 of Three Things will welcome 3 new WV professionals to share their stories!

Guests for episode 2 include The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation's President/CEO Michelle Foster, Violist Sandra Groce and Musician Tom Breiding. Three Things, produced by Jeff Shirley, presents 3 unique professionals discussing their first, favorite and future works, revealing a side not often seen by the public. Learn what inspires and drives some of your favorite area professionals at this live monthly speaker series.

Sandra Groce – Violist – For 20 years Sandra has been a member of the viola section of the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra. She has served the West Virginia Youth Symphony as a coach for that long, andfor the past 7 years has been conductor of the Cadet Strings. She also maintains an active teaching studio in Charleston for young violinists and violists.

Tom Breiding – Musician – Tom’s hometown is Wheeling, WV, but he has been a staple of the Pittsburgh music scene for decades. Tom’s work with the United Mine Workers Association earned him the title of Musician in Residence. His recording “The Unbroken Circle: Songs of the West Virginia Coalfields” is still played in Union Halls.

Dr. Michelle Foster – President/CEO TGKVF - Dr. Michelle Foster is the President and CEO of The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation (TGKVF). Before joining TGKVF, Michelle was the CEO of the Kanawha Institute for Social Research & Action, Inc. She has a doctorate in community economic development (CED) and two master’s degrees - one in CED and another in engineering management.
